Jerusalem Starry Night (2020)
This full sheet watercolor began as an idea to build a scene around a pasuk from shabbos davening. I wanted to place the viewer in the foothills of Jerusalem as if they were walking into the beautiful city as Shabbos was approaching and the stars began to glow above. You can see vineyards, date palms, wheat/barley fields. and Kalinit flowers in bloom.
A Walk in the Shuk (2021)
I found a photo in a magazine about Jerusalem that I thought would look beautiful as a painting. This was a challenging paitning to complete. Capturing the vibrant colors, the angles of light, and the perspective looking up with the rising stairs required all my skills and learnings. I finished the painting in 2021, framed it in dark wood, and hung it in my living room.
